Colorado All Star Kids - Day 5 - Friday, July 15
Day 5 Video - TPC KidsGames 2011 Newscast from The Pursuit Church on Vimeo.
Champions Change their World!
Do It!
Martha is a responsible person. But sometimes she discharges those responsibilities with self-righteousness rather than joy. But spending time with Jesus changes her attitudes. Jesus changes attitudes today. We learned to commit to serve anybody, anywhere with the right attitude and a part of the team.
Our memory Verse today was: Philippians 2:3b and 5
“In humility, consider other better than yourselves…
Your attitude should be the same as Christ Jesus.”
Compassion Challenge
What a difference a team of "Champions for God" can make in their world! I want to thank each and every ASKG team for exercising your compassion during all of our Compassion Challenges. You are all generous winners and the ultimate champions!
Together we collected over 4000 diapers and diaper wipes, bags and bags of socks, underwear, jeans, tennis shoes, sunscreen, bug spray, hoodies and backpacks. The Children In Need Program was THRILLED to receive off of these donations! All of these items will be distributed to needy families in our community. One family has already benefited from our diaper and diaper wipes donations! Whoot, Whoot! THANK YOU!

Chosen
Peter, now confident that God has work for him to do, becomes a transformed person. It gets him into trouble but he is motivated because he has chosen to be a part f God’s Big Plan. We learned that we are chosen by God, and He has something special planned for our lives.
Our memory Verse today was: Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you, “declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Compassion Challenge
The All-Star Kids Games team congratulates "Team Boys" for winning our daily diaper and diaper wipes compassion team challenge. Together "Team Boys" and "Team Girls" collected 3698 diapers and diaper wipes! What an incredible effort from all of our Champions!
Our week long individual compassion challenge ends tomorrow morning. Please remember to collect your bags of donations and return them to camp first thing tomorrow morning.

Restored
Even though Peter was a friend of Jesus and saw Him do amazing things, this didn’t stop him from making a mess of his life through wrong choices. Jesus helped Peter start over again. Today we learned that God forgives us of our mess and has a perfect plan for us to become his forever friend. The Coach showed us that becoming a Christian is as simple as ABC.
A Stands for Admitting our sin(our mess)- Realizing that we have done wrong and asking for forgiveness.
B Stands for Believing in Jesus- That He is the Son of God who died on the cross so that our sins would be forgiven
C Stands for choosing to accept His forgiveness and follow God- Accepting His forgiveness and obeying His word.
During All-Star Kids Games today, your child was given the opportunity to pray and receive God’s forgiveness and become a member of God’s family. This week you may want to…
Talk with your child about the salvation message presented.
- Read these Bible verses with your child which explain how to become a member of God’s family – John 3:16; John 14:6; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:8; and Romans 6:23.
- Pray for and with your child. Encourage him/her to talk honestly with God.
- Affirm and encourage your child as you see him/her take the steps to follow Jesus.
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.’
Compassion Challenge
All week long our All-Star Kids Games Champions will be given the opportunity to assist needy children and families right here in the Fort Collins community. We are collecting specific clothing and much needed hygiene items for the homeless and near-homeless.

Take Courage
Only Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego dared to disobey a King because he stood aganst God. They knew that this was politically very dangerous. Their courage changed the king. Today we learned that with God, I can have courage to face any situation.
Our memory Verse today was: Joshua 1:9
"I've commanded you to be strong and brave. Don't ever be afraid or discouraged! I am the LORD your God and I will be there to help you wherever you go."
Compassion Challenge
Champions for God have the ability to change their world and their community! This week our All-Star Kids Games Champions are making a real difference in the Fort Collins community by collecting and donating essential clothing and hygiene items to homeless and near-homeless children and their families through the Children In Need Program

Champions Change their World!
This week your children will learn about God’s champions – people who followed Jesus, people who changed their world – whether the world of their neighbors or a whole nation! Ultimately we will learn that we can become God’s champions and change our world!
I Belong
When Matthew, a person ‘on the outside’, discovers what it means to be included by Jesus, it changes his life. Becoming one of Jesus’ team of champions, he learns to love others the way Jesus loved him- without conditions. Today we learned that we are loved and included by Jesus no matter what and that we can respond to that kind of love by including and loving others.
Our memory Verse today was: John 13:34-35
“Jesus said I am giving you a new command. You must love each other, just as I have loved you. If you love each other, everyone will know that you are my disciples.”
Compassion Challenge
Champions for God have the ability to change their world and their community! Today I challenged our All-Star Kids Games Champions to help make a difference in their community by collecting much needed clothng and hygiene items for homeless and near-homeless children and their families.

Day 1 - Mission trip to Colorado
Hello Lifegroup Family,
I just wanted to give you an update on how things are going here in Colorado. I am sure you all heard about the challenges we faced getting here. We were basically on the Texas-New Mexico border (thats right...the middle of nowhere) and a tire on our trailer pretty much fell apart. We limped into Clayton, NM, and hung out in a DQ for about 3 hours while we waited to get the tire repaired. Based on that little incident, our trip took about 20 hours to complete. LONG day!
Those memories all disappeared on Monday. The park where we are holding the event is beautiful, with great views of snow capped peaks and plenty of green grass to run and play on. The many hours of planning and sweating the small details paid off. The first day went about as smoothly as we could have dared hope. The kids all had a great time. We were absolutley exhausted by the end. We are not used to the altitude and the dry air. A lot of dehydration, something that we are having to be more aware of. All that said, most kids went home really excited about the week ahead and pledging to tell their friends.
We have really been blessed to be working with the teen team from the Pier. They have brought such an energy and a can-do spirit, and they are really helping make it fun for the kids.
The reason we are so interested in KidsGames is that the raw numbers and data support it as an outstanding community outreach tool. Where a traditional VBS consists of 92%
churched kids on average, KidsGames draws about 42% unchurched kids. This one bears that out....fully 50% of the kids enrolled and attending are currently not involved in a church anywhere. What an awesome opportunity!!
Please pray for us as the week goes on, that we will have stamina (this is really physically demanding), that we can truly impact the families that we are working with here, and that God's love will shine through.
Attached are a few pictures from day 1. Check them out, you will get a kick out of them. I'll update you as the week goes along.
In Christ,
