Info about Genesis Center

A Christ Centered Shelter for Women & Children
In Crisis

THE GENESIS CENTER
2675 N. State Hwy 34
Kaufman, TX 75142
(972) 932-4351

The Genesis Center is a non-profit organization committed to provide immediate safety and shelter, along with victim care services, for women and children in crisis.
The Genesis Center was founded with the vision of collaborating with the area resources already in existence in helping rebuild and transform lives that are truly broken. It is a place of refuge for those in need. The Center offers 24Sharing the Love of Christ with Women and Children in Need-hour crises counseling, shelter, resources for daily needs, parenting classes, job services, medical referrals and spiritual mentoring.
The focus of the Center is both physical and spiritual. We believe with this approach women are able to progress in putting their lives back on track. Clients are empowered to make their own choices and are shown options for creating a new life for themselves and their children. The success of the Center to date is attributed to the spiritual focus that motivates all that is done.

We serve many counties such as  Henderson, Kaufman, Dallas, Ellis, and Van Zandt just to name a few in Texas.  We are primarily the only shelter of this kind in three surrounding counties.
We try to accommodate any client in need, provided we have the bed space.

Local mission events planned - Genesis Center and Park Manor

LP Moss-Deere Missions

Hi class!

Two new local mission events are planned for our Life Group.  I will have sign up sheets in class between now and the event dates.

Sat. April 30 - Genesis Women's Center, Kaufman, TX
10:00am? - 1pm (meal at 11:30am)
This is a Shelter and Recovery ministry that houses (about 50?) women and their children.  It is very evangelistic!  100+ souls are saved per year.  They minister primarily to counties east of Dallas including Rockwall County.  We are looking at having a Sat outside family BBQ, playtime for kids, fellowshipping with women, and manual work for others such as our dads and teens.  Kids of all ages are very welcomed.  We will also be given an intro to this awesome and effective ministry.

date TBD - Park Manor ministry -  Cornerstone Baptist Church/Downtown Dallas
10:30am-12:00pm
This is a 10 year old LPC/Cornerstone Baptist Church ministry which is a once per month Sat. lunch and fellowship time with elderly folks in South Dallas.  It is in a high-rise building nursing home that is a ministry of Cornerstone Baptist Church.   It is always the 4th Sat of every month, 10:30am-12:00pm.  The need is for people to serve the food and to carry the food to shut-ins.  They also need people to visit with the elderly folks.  Kids of all ages are very welcomed!  The LG that runs this ministry has only about 10 people that volunteer so they always need help.
